Chamomile Tea And Other Delights
Lisa returns to the successful collaboration with composer Dana Paul Robinson. February, 2007

"Dana has written most of these songs with the female perspective in mind, although 'Chamomile Tea' was the only one written specifically for me. Like a lot of writers, he possesses that level of empathy that enables him to do that. One song (Love is a Simple Thing) was composed for a show he wrote about 20 years ago, but otherwise most of the songs come from the last few years since we have been collaborating."

Hello Again
Lisa arranged and performs songs by composer Dana Paul Robinson. November, 2005

Lisa says: "I think you're really going to like this music. You'll notice it's a markedly different vocal sound than you may be used to hearing from me. It's more "full" voiced. You'll understand when you hear it! It's also different in content and style from my previous recordings, in that (a) all the music is new, and with I think one exception, has never been recorded before; and (b) the style is much more toward cabaret, with its emphasis on lyrics and storytelling, than straight-ahead jazz. Based on the initial charts Dana gave to me, I created an original concept for each song (i.e., tempo, style, mood, etc.), and with lots of help from Mike Frank, our extremely talented pianist, we crafted arrangements that are a modern (but still acoustic - no synthesizers here!) complement and contrast to the timeless lyrics."

Now I Know
Lisa's critically acclaimed debut solo CD. November 2000.

"The young singer is endowed with a broad vocal range and a smooth jazz style. Her solo CD debut finds Lisa with a number of Pittsburgh's most popular jazz musicians immersed in the standards of Jerome Kern, Matt Dennis, Cy Coleman, Harold Arlen and Bobby Troup. Among the tunes presented are Fever, They Didn't Believe Me, When The Sun Comes Out, The Meaning of the Blues, Lullaby of Birdland, With Every Breath I Take and the perennial Bluesette penned by Toots Thielmans. I especially liked the singer's interpretation of the late Julie London's "The Meaning of the Blues" with some fine horn accompaniment by Frank Podroskey. Bluesette is another standout on this album." - Richard Bourcier "Jazz at a Glance"

Lost in a Summer Night
November, 2002

"She is, seemingly, at her best when digging into melancholy songs like the title song, Andre Previn's Lost in a Summer Night. The lyrics evoke wonderful imagery, Hindmarsh writes in her well-written and informative liner notes, "You can almost hear the crickets and smell the summer night air." This is true and Hindmarsh is the kind of singer to bring life to those exceptional Milton Raskin lyrics. The lovely opening flute on this piece is by Eric DeFade. I've heard only two other versions of this seldom-recorded gem, and I prefer Hindmarsh's to both. In fact, this cut alone is well worth the price of this CD." - Roger Crane "All About Jazz"

Moonlit River
Lisa appears as guest artist on Moonlit River, Songs by Fred Moolten, released in March 2004.

"The composer found Hindmarsh via the Internet when he searched for female singers living in the Pittsburgh area. Her Web site, www.lisahindmarsh.com, included a list of all-time favorite songs that impressed Moolten for its exceptional sense of quality. After listening to several of Hindmarsh's audio clips, he was taken by her expressive voice, which, he said, "has the ability to bring out the emotional qualities of a song." Rodan Weikert, who sings two songs on the CD and whose recording company, MGO Media Group, is a distributor of the album with Great Gull Records, said that when searching for a female vocalist, Moolten was looking for "someone a little sultry, a little breathy, but with really good timbre" - Dave Zuchowski "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette."
